SAGE designs and installs systems tailored to the unique communication requirements of any educational facility. Today's typical campus includes numerous classrooms, computer labs, an auditorium, gymnasium, stadium and perhaps even a theater; all of which require sound, video, voice and data systems. There are telephone, intercom, network, Internet access and voice mail links between offices, classrooms and parents at home. A teacher's ability to communicate and reach out to students has been greatly enhanced through state-of-the-art technology.

Increase Information Retention
SAGE places special focus on improving the technologies available to your faculty for educational purposes. SAGE custom designs solutions for our client schools to deliver high-quality, educational video and multimedia to your classrooms using Video on Demand (VOD) technology. With the use of these technologies, educators are able to more easily reinforcement the concepts and elements of education they are trying to deliver: improving their students' retention of the subject matter and, therefore, their achievement.
Studies have shown the average student's attention span is between ten and twenty minutes (Penner, 1984). After that, students have difficulty concentrating on the speaker. Incorporating multimedia into an average lesson plan has been shown to increase students' attention by 34 minutes. Multimedia is also the most efficient method of reaching the various learning styles of your students. |

Centralized Communications
Centralizing the school's communications infrastructure gives your IT and Telecom Departments the upperhand when dealing with your schools' communications needs. Many of the issues and problems that would be encountered during the daily operation of a telephone system can be addressed via remote access without having to waste endless amounts of time travelling throughout the district. By implementing a standardized telecommunication throughout the district, these support teams are also able to become experts on the types of systems being implemented and can perform the majority of service work themselves without costly service bills from your telecommunications vendor.
One another major benefit of a centralized communications system is decreased need for training. Your staff often moves within the school district throughout their career. By having the same telephone system at each school in the district, there is no longer a need to spend your teachers' valuable Professional Development days being trained on telephone systems. And for new staff, your IT and Telecom Departments are able to perform these trainings on an as-needed basis due to their in-depth knowledge of their operations. |

Automate Processes
SAGE offers easy and cost-effective solutions for voice messaging communications by providing solutions such as Automated School Receptionist, Voice Mail Boxes, Homework Hotline, Information Directory, and Unified Messaging Capability. Voicemail Systems have the capability of sending critical information to your entire staff. Messages from the Superintendent or notification of school closures or delays can be sent to every one with a voicemail box in one step.
Voicemails can be converted to *.wav files and emailed to your staff. This is especially useful in schools where the teachers move classrooms and the students remain. It is virtually impossible to deliver voicemail notification when the teachers do not have a designated phone assigned to them. Email, however, can be accessed from any computer and your staff does not have to periodically dial into the phone system to check for messages. |

Reduce Operating Costs
Distance Learning & Virtual Field Trips
With the introduction of Video Conferencing Systems at your school, your teachers gain access to limitless amounts of resources and information. These are all accessible without having to transport your students to off-site facilities or front the travel expenses to bring guest speakers into the district.
Another application for Video Conferencing Systems is giving your students access to college courses at area colleges and universities without the liability involved with transporting these students to the campus and without having to employ full-time teachers with the advanced knowledge of these courses. This type of partnership was recently adopted by Georgia Tech and Fulton County Schools in Georgia.
Classroom Control Systems
Many schools throughout the state have begun the implementation of projectors and Interactive Whiteboards in their districts. The cost of the bulbs in these units is extremely high in most cases and, if the projectors, are not shut-down properly or if they are accidentally left on for long periods of time, their life expectancy is greatly diminished. With the incorporation of Control Systems like the ones offered by Crestron or AMX the system controls the shut-down of the projectors to ensure they are properly turned off. Your IT Staff also has the ability to monitor status of the systems via the LAN and shut them down manually if necessary. Bulb Life can also be monitored to guarantee that your teachers do not lose their projector in the middle of a lesson.
