Spotlight: Herb awarded Six Sigma Green Belt — Healthcare

After four years of outstanding service and an arduous three-month training process, SAGE Network Engineer Herb Ricords has been awarded a Six Sigma Green Belt in Healthcare!

The Six Sigma Green Belt represents a specific focus on improvement of patient-care-centered workflow processes and demonstrates Herb's ability level and the quality of the SAGE organization. Six Sigma, originally implemented by Motorola, has spread to dozens of major companies — everywhere from the US military to Amazon.com and GE. The goal of Six Sigma is to always meet customer needs and process capability, and Herb's certification is SAGE's next step towards that objective.

    Once again, congratulations to Herb!

New long-term care/K-12/higher education line: Status Solutions

Status Solutions combines the three main situational awareness elements in one technology package: wireless emergency call, broadcast resident communication and an integration toolset. This rich capability suite resides in SARA™, a single hardware platform.

  • Situational Awareness Response Assistant (SARA): automated alerting system sends wireless voice and text alerts.
  • SSCIG "Cigarette Buster": flame instantly triggers concealed sensors, alerting security.
  • New hardware: Device servers, serial receivers, high-power repeaters, monitors, sensors, locators, call devices and much more.
  •     SARA has applications in schools, college campuses, long-term healthcare communities and governmental institutions — any place that uses automated alerts. SAGE is pleased to add SARA to its repertoire of safety solutions!

SAGE promotes one-to-one education at PSU conference

Recently, Penn State University hosted the fifth One-to-One Computing Conference, which focused on improving teacher skill by providing new technology for the school district. In successful one-to-one programs, students have unlimited learning access.

SAGE partnered with PolyVision for the three-day event to demonstrate the ēno™ board, Qwizdom™ student response systems and Lumens document cameras. Sessions included effective methods to introduce new classroom technology, how to use wikis (interlinked, collaborative Web sites), one-to-one implementation strategies, and connecting lessons to the real world.

SAGE highlighted its technicians' and engineers' abilities to physically integrate classroom technology. While most local integrators just sell boxes to school districts, SAGE prides itself on end-to-end partnership with district technology directors during brainstorming, design, purchasing installation and service.

Spotlight: Eric does the job "BETTER than right!"

We often receive enthusiastic feedback from our customers, but rarely as glowing as this. Mr. Whitehill at Dallastown Area MS had only good things to say about recent service from one of our A/V technicians:

Greetings! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Eric, one of the technician specialists on your staff at Sage Technology Solutions, for a job well done here at Dallastown Area Middle School!

On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009, Eric arrived around 8:00 A.M. and began troubleshooting a failure of our CATV/CCTV distribution system that occurred over the previous weekend for some unknown reason. Eric worked on this problem, as well as doing other work throughout our entire building, for the entire day (until about 4:30 PM to my knowledge).

He worked in a professional and courteous manner with me, as well as communicating effectively with my counterpart in the High School building here on campus. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it to me regularly, and answered my questions in a capable way.

As a result of his patience, diligence and skill, he not only identified various failed equipment items in our distribution rack, but also properly troubleshot various branch amplifiers throughout our building. In the end, our CATV/CCTV system is now providing a better-quality signal to all of our classrooms and offices than it ever has.

Again, I'd like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to him for taking the time to do our repair job not only right, but BETTER than right! Our system is better than ever because of him.

        Sincerely,

        Doug Whitehill

Summer is here, and you're inevitably considering data, sound and video needs for the upcoming year. You're not alone: last-minute emergencies and installations make summer our busiest time for service and installation. If your desires are time-sensitive, please schedule your service as far in advance as possible.

Avoid the service rush. Get your system moves, adds and changes in — especially to intercoms, phone systems and bells.

  • Call Kurt Holtzer, our Service Coordinator, at 653-3330 or Amy, our Administrative Assistant, at 653-3325
